The Charter Industry and the Marketplace

Due to the very obvious growth in tourism, the charter industry has witnessed a spur in popularity amongst yachting holidays. Even though COVID-19 brought much uncertainty in the sector, the charter industry has seen a healthy growth in demand and is currently recovering rapidly.

With this now consistent growth in popularity and demand, the industry faces a new target audience; Millennials. This generation is now the largest in the planet, and they are the first generation to have grown up with technology and developed alongside it.

As Millennials (and soon, Generation Zs) become the largest portion of the market, they are expecting the advances in technology to be present in any of the services they purchase. (reference: Goldman Sachs 2022).

So what does this mean to the charter industry? The change of needs always comes with a challenge. You might be thinking "everything works fine now" or "I do not want to change my ways" - however, everything points towards a more tech-savvy future, in all industries.

The good news is that more and more companies are opting to supply and aid with this transition from the traditional approach in the industry onto what should be the more current and future approach with technology. In most other industries, the presence of mobile apps to assist with pre-during-post customer experience is not only present, but expected.

The decision to adapt to new technologies will not only aid your Millennial customers, but it also aids your on-base team, enabling more structure and management tools for the day-to-day operations as well as a smoother allocation of information within any stakeholders.
