Meet the team: Dawid Adamski

📲 Meet our first employee and Backend Engineer, @Dawid Adamski

Dawid comes from a background in tourism and real estate. He is a self-taught software engineer and lives in Cracow, Poland. In his free time he enjoys hiking with his dog and kickboxing. He has been around since the very early days of Floatist so is a key player in the team.

Dawid loves learning new things and challenging the status quo, which is why he enjoys working at Floatist, in a small team where every opinion matters.

Why do you like working at Floatist?

I enjoy working at Floatist because I can contribute to a broad spectrum of things: backend, frontend, even some server management. I like to be part of things where I have an impact on decisions, I can say my ideas and they're taken into account.

How has working at Floatist impacted you and your development skills?

My skills, in my opinion, have just skyrocketed since I joined. I learned a lot and keep learning every day. Albert is a great mentor, always taking the time to explain why we are making certain design decisions. This in combination with the fact that I've been part of the team from when we started building it from the ground up has been an incredible experience to be a part of!

What do you think of the working remote structure within Floatist?

I like it. I don't like offices and fixed working hours. Our way of working gives a lot of life flexibility and saves a lot of time. A few times per week I like to take a long break during lunch to do some sports, and thanks to our flexible work policy this is possible.

Why did you decide to join Floatist?

I was unhappy in my previous job - I was usually waiting for tasks, and I didn't have possibility to decide which tasks I would pick up. I felt I was not developing as much as I could and I was challenged enough. Joining Floatist has been quite the opposite so far and I am very happy I made that decision!
