Seafarer Sailing Holidays has been a trusted name in yachting since 1995. Founded by Managing Director Chris Lorenzo—who still leads the company today—Seafarer has built one of the highest repeat booking ratios in the industry and an ever-growing family of loyal sailors.
But running a busy charter operation isn’t simple. Prices across the industry are under pressure, demand is high, and Seafarer has expanded its team to keep pace, adding base coordinators and technicians to every base. The challenge was keeping everyone aligned—especially on turnaround days, when dozens of tasks collide in a matter of hours.
Turnaround days without the chaos
Seafarer Sailing started with Floatist in April 2023, so is well underway to finishing their third season with Floatist. For Giannis Patsamanis, Greece Country Manager, the pain was clear: late arrivals, deposits to process, and cleaning and repair jobs all stacking up at once. Floatist became the central nervous system of his team.
Instead of shouting across the dock or chasing updates, coordinators and technicians now manage every check-out, repair, and deposit inside Floatist. Everyone sees what’s done, what’s pending, and who’s responsible.
Flexible check-ins that work their way
Seafarer’s team especially values the flexibility of Floatist’s check-in and check-out process. They can set the order of steps, add photos, and decide what’s visible to guests versus technicians. It’s structured, but never rigid—exactly what’s needed for a busy base.
Maintenance logs that add long-term value
John Connolly highlighted another transformation: maintenance logging.
With every job recorded in Floatist, Seafarer now has a complete history of work done on each boat. This improves day-to-day upkeep, and at the same time it creates long-term value; when older yachts are sold, they’ll be able to present buyers with full maintenance records, building confidence and strengthening resale value.
The reliable backbone of daily operations
One thing that Giannis noticed in his years of experience with Floatist? Speed and reliability of the app. “The app never crashes. And it is fast,” he said, emphasizing how important this is during the season when the whole team depends on the system running smoothly.
During peak season, when the entire operation runs through the platform, reliability isn’t optional.
After nearly three full seasons with Floatist, Seafarer’s team sees it as more than just software—it’s the backbone of their bases. From turnaround day coordination to long-term maintenance tracking, Floatist gives them the clarity and control they need to keep delivering the smooth sailing holidays their guests return for year after year.
